So how many Daesangs does blackpink have?

Havn’t a full album to won Daesangs Yet

Actually blackpink does not have daesangs, because they have only mini albums,to have daesangs you should be having full album, but their mini albums are very much successful and also managed to win a lot of awards. An hope to see blackpink coming with a full album!

“Actually Blackpink can’t win a Daesang because they don’t have a full Album. Their mini Album Square up is the Bestselling K pop GG’s Debut album in Hanteo this Decade with over 300,000 copies in 3-5 days only.”

I got this off of a Facebook post, and those came out to be the rules. They don’t qualify for Daesangs due to the lack of full albums, let alone songs in general.

Many people that aren’t big fans of them come at them for not having a Daesang while their favs have one. I’m an ARMY and many more as well so don’t get triggered when I say this…a lot of people mock BLACKPINK for not possessing a Daesang and compare them to BTS who own a lot of Daesangs. Compared to BTS, not only did BLACKPINK debut later, but they also haven’t even released a full album after 3–4 years of debut. Blame this on YG, this ain’t anything to mock them for or compare.

So no, BLACKPINK does not have any Daesang’s, and they won’t unless they have a full album soon (if it’s successful like their other albums).

Females try harder to won a Daesangs

Another thing is…as females of the kpop industry, you have to realize that the hosts and the award show itself have biases towards certain sex, and if you haven’t guessed by now, it is males over females. Male idols and groups are more inclined to get an award in comparison to females…in fact, the whole industry is not so friendly towards females. Take YG as an example. During this quarantine, two of his male groups were confirmed to be coming out with new music…groups that already have more comebacks and full album releases than BLACKPINK which have no full albums, but he decided to push back the dates of BLACKPINK’s comeback, which I’m sure he slacked on enough. On top of that, he’s planning on debuting a new girl group, “Baby monsters” soon, and I don’t even know how that’ll work out when he can’t even manage BLACKPINK, and he disbanded 2NE1 so soon. It’s only with the females…

For example, Taeyeon, became the first of all female soloists in 2nd gen to win a Daesang when there are so many hardworking, record-breaking female soloists in second-gen.

Keep watching, Twice only has 15 Daesang awards when they’re hardworking. During 2019–2020 award shows, they were “robbed” of their awards (claimed by the fandom), now, I’m not much of a Twice follower though I do listen to them at times, I feel incredibly bad at how the award shows prioritize males more than females. I’m not saying BTS didn’t deserve their awards, because I think they did and I love them incredibly, but the host and reps could’ve given some to Twice because I do think “Fancy You”, “Feel Special”, were very successful and deserved more than they got. BTS has 260 awards and over 300 nominations. This isn’t fair to the female artists, as much as I love BTS, and know they deserve those awards, it doesn’t hurt to consider females a bit. This is why I’m scared for BLACKPINK.

They’ve won a total of 43 awards, with 156 nominations. They’ve gotten some listicles of 1st place too (Forbed I believe, and one other). And remember that they have only 2 mini albums and 5 singles and then Jennie’s solo. That’s all, and they were able to get this far.
