Kim Ji-soo was born on January 3, 1995 in Gunpo, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. She has a brother and a sister. As a child, she played basketball and practiced taekwondo. She dreamed of becoming a painter and a writer. She is a fan of South Korean boy band TVXQ. Jisoo attended high school at the Seoul Academy of Performing Arts; In 11th grade, she joined a drama club at her school and gained more show business experience by auditioning. Before her debut, Ji-soo lived with her parents, siblings and grandparents. In addition to her native Korean, Jisoo has learned to speak Chinese, Japanese and English.
